Choose the right water temperature

The cost of hot vs. cold wash

The care label on your clothes recommends which water temperature to use.

  • Cold (20°C) Ideal for fabrics that might shrink or fade in warm water and is recommended for typical wash-and-wear items. Cold Power liquid and powder is specially formulated to be effective even in cold water washing.
  • Warm (35°C) Recommended for permanent press items including light to medium colours.
  • Hot (55°C) provides maximum cleaning for items that can stand hot water without losing colour or shrinking; especially baby clothes and nappies, heavily soiled work or sport outfits. Hot water is excellent for whites, sheets, towels and other household items.

For dark and black colours use cold water. Use Dynamo liquid to help maintain darks and colours, as well as to keep clothes looking newer longer.
